In the B-movie version, you’re staggering through a fog-veiled graveyard of economic doom while zombies cling to your ankles shrieking, “you will fail…you will faaaaaail”. In a flashback, we see you having coffee with friends and talking about how you’ve always dreamed of having your own business. Flash forward again and the zombies are back. “Lawyers, government forms, funding, marketing, receeeeession…”, they wail, “Just stay here with us….where it’s saaaaafe.” Vultures are circling overhead.

Question 1: What is the greatest challenge you face as a small business owner in this economy?
Lately, it seems I have to be more creative and put more effort into finding clients. They don’t seem to be coming to me as much as they used to, although I believe it may have to do with the upcoming election since many are fearful of the repercussions of a specific result.
Question 2: What made you choose to start your own business rather than work for someone else – and do you feel it was the right choice?
I definitely feel it was the best choice. I would like to believe business owners will continue to have the government’s blessings since we provide more tax dollars and jobs to society. (more…)
